Much excitement last week as I was nominated to attend Ranks 75th anniversary award ceremony down at Pinewood studios, Slough in London.
6 hours on the train and not much to see from the window. Read my book (Jeremy Clarkson) and listened to some music (The Vaccines)
After some tube action I eventually arrived at Maidenhead.
Rush hour rammy to leave the platform.
Room 229 at the Holiday Inn home for the next 2 nights.
The bed was very comfy and I slept no probs.
Spot me!

My keycard.

I had 3 foamy baths over the couple of days I was there.
My room's miles away down the bottom of the corridor.
Heathden Hall in the grounds of Pinewood studios and scene of the ceremony.
My invitation.
And the pass to get into Pinewood.
We didn't get to see much of the studios but this is the 007 stage.
I met up with Jimmy from Glasgow. There was a free bar but I was just on the water.
Crikey, very posh with a big band and 75 of the cream of the crop (inc me)
Salmon for starters
Main course was Lamb.

Crikey! I won an award and got joint third place!
A game of rock'n'roll bingo.
My award!
Hanging out at the bar afterwards. I treated myself to a beer. Toni, on the right, and I became best buddies after discovering a mutual interest in football even though he supported QPR.
The band in full swing mode as the hall starts to empty and we have to get the coach back to hotel.
£5.45 for a pint and some peanuts! Just as well the company was paying.
Arty shot.
My bag was packed and ready to go. I couldn't wait to get home. Even though I had a good time and met some nice people I was missing Rosie and my home comforts.
A rainy London as I head back to Kings Cross Station for the long journey home.
I had a burger king opposite the magnificent building of St.Pancras.
Platform 9 3/4 where Harry Potter was filmed getting on his train to Hogwarts. Millions of Japanese tourists surrounded this place and I had to wait ages to get a quick shot.
