SPiS and the case of Death road and the hounds of Usan.
With darkness an hour closer and winter bringing
a chill in the air it was a crisp day as Bro and I headed out towards St.Cyrus
to search for the pipers cave, but like all good adventures it ended up as
something completely different.

The first stop was a bit morbid as Bro and I wanted to see the spot where his mate was killed at the notorious 'death bend' on the A92 between Montrose and Arbroath. The stretch of road is now abandoned as a new straight was built and finished last year. Coincidently, one of my work mates was involved in the same crash!!
Looking over to Lunan bay. The stretch of road was littered with pieces of cars and scraps of metal. We even found a bone!
We'd never really been so close to a cat's eye before without the risk of getting runover, so, after a bit of hard work we managed to howk out one each for a souvenier.
We aborted our plan for St. Cyrus as the tide was in, so we diverted down to Usan for an explore. There's an old salmon village there and is still used for fishing but it's just a junkyard really. Still we ventured on and made our down onto the rocky shores followed by SPiSdog which was the youngest of a welcoming pack of hounds which surrounded the car as we tried to park.
Ha Ha, spot Bro in the background.
And this became' Rhino rock' with the 'deils eye' in the middle.
Bro with SPiSdog.
Where we were.
